Our Story
When we first started out in September 2013 with Chair Covers and sashes for weddings. We were getting married ourselves and didn't want to pay the ridiculous prices we were seeing everywhere and decided to decorate our wedding ourselves. This grew to help friends and family with birthdays and christening and before we knew it we were adding more options and products.
We were very fortunate that the business grew quicker than we ever could have imagined and we were soon doing 4 weddings/parties a weekend. We continued to added other hired items like centrepieces, sweet carts, balloons or anything a Wedding, party or event needed. Over the years the business continued to grow and we were able to do 11 events in a weekend!
We are very proud of what we built. However, due to ill health I had to reduce the number of events I was doing. After a few long years of trying to overcome health issues it was in 2018 when it became obvious that my issues were not going away and I originally decided that I was going to take a break and heal.
This however, was wishful thinking and it started to become obvious that I was going to have to learn to live with whatever was going on with my body. My husband, Kevin and I, had to make the extremely difficult decision to stop doing the events as the work is physically demanding and something I can no longer do, as I was struggling with everyday tasks.
I needed help from my doctors surgery but due to my GP leaving, a few other problems in the surgery, and Covid, it took FOREVER to finally find out what was going on and get confirmation. I was sent for a lot of tests post Covid but the waiting lists were extremely long.
It wasn't until February 2024 that I was finally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and they think I may also be suffering ME/CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). This was followed by more tests results and at the end of May 2024 I was diagnosed with Arthritis in 2/3's of my spine & disc degeneration.
I had always hoped to continue with weddings and events and then to just do the balloons but unfortunately, I was struggling far too much and told to give it up on medical grounds. Fibromyalgia is a debilitating condition that I have got to learn to manage and live with. I am now under the pain clinic and rheumatology to help me manage my conditions and try to live a life with some activity.
Whilst waiting for answers, I was missing the creativity of making things look beautiful, I wanted and needed an outlet. I have always been into crafting from a young age and I now had more time on my hands so, I started to craft more. I eventually began to wondering if I could make my hobby into something more. Having finally started to get answers this idea grew… and grew… and grew into me deciding to sell my makes - rather than keep giving them away - and the items I use for others creators to buy.
I will continue to do all of the crafty bits that I loved from before. We will be offering the same items/gifts to give as presents, favour types, or for proposals etc. We will be expanding on what we offered before plus the addition of craft supplies and we will continue to add new lines as we grow.
